  • Students have opportunities to earn industry credentials that can prove valuable after high school in this job sector. IT, coding, software, and programming careers are among the most sought after in today’s workforce. The skills developed in this program also provide a head start for students interested in pursuing further education in college.
Program Fuel:
  • Bureau of Labor Statistics projects more than 25% growth in various computer support, networking and engineering careers, 20% growth for web developers, and 7% growth for multimedia animators and graphic designers through 2020.
  • Students can go on to study at The Ohio State University, Columbus State, Clark State, or any college they prefer, or they could find employment right out of high school at wages in the $16-20 range.

IT Academy at Emerald Campus

  • Students prepare for careers in the high-demand fields of information technology, programming, and software development.
  • Any student in Dublin City Schools can enroll in this career-technical satellite program housed at Emerald Campus, part of a Straight A Grant and partnership that includes Tolles, Dublin City Schools, Columbus State, and the City of Dublin.
  • Students enrolled in the IT Academy will be in the unique position of being able to take certification exams for 10 industry credentials, including Oracle Certified Associate, Microsoft Academy Fundamental, and Microsoft Technology Associate, to name a few.
Program Fuel:
  • Bureau of Labor Statistics projects more than 25% growth in various computer support, networking and engineering careers, 20% growth for web developers, and 7% growthfor multimedia animators and graphic designers through 2020.
  • Students can continue their studies at any college, including Columbus State and The Ohio State University, while being able to explore internships through the Dublin Entrepreneurial Center. Students can also enter the workforce directly with an expected job paying $16-20/hour.
